Some times you have to build from the ground up, and in fashion that just means building an outfit around the shoes. But in this case the outfit was designed around the shoes. The tan and lavender color blocks on these strappy black sandals make these Dolce Vita shoes versatile for summer. The chunky heel on this shoe make it a perfect 'pratical' shoe, you know, the heels you wear when you have to walk long distances or brave difficult terrain. And given the gravel floor of this alley in a random parking deck I knew I needed a reliable and practical shoe. Actually, I've shot at this location before but I wore the wrong kind of shoes and plus the the gray cinder block walls were screaming for color. So I thought it was fitting to introduce my new #colorcrush: lilac.
The purple color block on the heel inspired me to use this ankara fabric that was laying around the house having been a souvenir gifted to my mom from some random Naija party. I had my own Naija event to go to so I decided to make a dress using this particular lilac ankara.
So y'all know that I'm a back girl, a garment with a well designed back is the key to my heart. The cris-cross back of this garment is an ode to the cris-cross of the sandal. While the zipper slit was just for kicks and giggles.
Well I wish I could stay and chat but I have to get ready for work. But before I go tell me what colors are you crushing on? Oh yeah, and thank you for the love. Kiss kiss.
